Let the Training Begin!

In about 3 weeks, I’ll be running in the Pat’s Run 4.2 mile race. I did this race last year in 48:18. Before my run this morning, I wasn’t sure it would be possible for me to match that pace since I haven’t been running for the last six months like I was this time last year.

But this mornings run was an eye opener. I finished a 5k jog in 38:12. That’s not amazing but its faster than I would have guessed after such a long time without running. I know its the weight loss. Its difficult to not be faster after losing almost 40 lbs!

So I think I’m going to keep my time goal from last year – 45mins. That’s an aggressive goal but if I train over the next three weeks, I think its doable. As always, I’ll keep you posted!
