The Quest

Hi… My Name is Dale, and I’m a food-a-holic.  Corporate “HI, DALE”. I admit it, I eat – a lot!  I’ve always been over weight but after high school I began to expand like the Stay Puff Marshmallow man.  At my heaviest I weighed 330 lbs.  When I started this blog, I weighed just over 300 lbs.  I’ve tried Adkins, Weight Watchers, and South Beach diets.  My best effort was the summer I spent cycling to work over 18 miles each way for 3 days a week… without losing any weight.  So I quit.  Again.

Each time I quit, I gained weight back.  Sometimes more than I lost, sometimes not.  But the cycle continued over and over.  Will I quit this time?  How is this time different?  Well, to be honest, I’m not sure that it is, but I’m hoping that the difference this time is you.  That’s right – you.

Now I know you thought you were just reading a website that someone sent you a link to, but in actuality you became a part of something much bigger than surfing the web – you just joined me in a quest – a quest to lose 100 pounds.  This tale of ups and downs is going to be better than any reality television show for big losers – better than a late night infomercial for a new wonder pill – better than a fad diet too.  What’s your roll in the story?  Just by reading this page, you have helped create accountability in my quest to lose weight.  You have become a member of my increasing support group.

Will I lose the wieght?  Or will I quit… AGAIN!
