This is the last week of the six week challenge I took on following the Eat to Live program. I’ve lost 22 lbs, possibly more by the end of the week. In the book, Dr Fuhrman says “Don’t give it a try – either do it all the way or not at all.”
He goes on to say that if you do it “all the way” you will see sustained weight loss; an average of 20 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 1 1/2 pounds each week after that until your body levels out at your ideal weight.
I have to say – I gave it a try. I didn’t stop diet soda. I didn’t stick with the portion control of the limited food category. And although I GREATLY reduced my sodium intake, I didn’t eliminate all salt. AND I STILL LOST OVER 20 POUNDS!!!
Dr Fuhrman, you have my attention! For the next six weeks (2/12 – 3/24) I will cut out artificial sweeteners (read as diet soda), limit my starchy vegetables, avocados, raw nuts, oats and other grains to the prescribed amounts, and be more diligent to remove all salt (I did not say naturally occurring sodium) from my diet.
ALL THE WAY – here I come…
