Merry Christmas!!! Today could have been a disasterous food day – but I’m proud to say, it wasn’t! I wasn’t truely able to keep an acturate count of my calories because most of the dishes were homemade, but I was able to maintain portion control. I stayed away from foods that I know would be issues for me – like the sweet potato casserole and the sugar coated pecans (homemade and still warm from the over… according to those that had them). I also brought my own measured trail mix for snacks to keep me from heading to the dinner table all day after the meal was over.
Here is the real suprise – I didn’t feel hungry all day and I didn’t feel like I was missing out. Maybe I’m still in the honeymoon phase that comes with any new diet – but I’m not actually following a diet. I’m just journalling my food choices and paying attention to my sodium. These are things I’m going to have to do for the rest of my life – which makes this the often referred to “lifestyle change” and not a fade diet.
Anyway – Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Great job! I know that holidays are a difficult starting a lifestyle change (diet) since we have associated large delicious with the holidays in November and December. Keep it up!
Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll keep you posted!
